Op basis van onder een aselecte steekproef onder bewoners gehouden onderzoek constateert de gemeente dat de bevolking tevreden is over de informatieverstrekking over de aanleg van de A9-tunnel en de herontwikkeling van het gebied langs de snelweg. Tegenover beide staat men pover het algemeen positief, meldt de gemeente. Volgens haar is het onderzoek representatief. 85 procent van de respondenten volgt de ontwikkelingen rond het project. Een ruime meerderheid haalt de informatie uit de gemeentepagina en de lokale media. Men is vooral geïnteresseerd in wanneer de werkzaamheden beginnen, hoe de bereikbaarheid wordt en hoe het gebied er uit komt te zien. Zestig procent van de respondenten verwacht dat het leefklimaat door de tunnel beter wordt. Twaalf procent is het daar niet mee eens.Bijna veertig procent denkt dat, als de tunnel en de gebiedsontwikkeling klaar zijn, het alle moeite meer dan waard zal blijken te zijn geweest. Achttien procent spreekt dat tegen. De bevolking maakt zich wel zorgen over de financiering, de variatie in het woningaanbod in de Zone A9 en het sluipverkeer.
Naast de steekproef is ook het digipanel benaderd en zijn via de digitale nieuwsbrief van de Zone A9 en de gemeentepagina mensen opgeroepen deel te nemen aan het onderzoek. Een kwart van de respondenten was jonger dan 44 jaar. Het is relatief vaker ingevuld door mensen die in de Zone A9 wonen.
